EngPell™ pellets reduce 95.8% of the leaching potential of Arsenic and other heavy materials known to be carcinogens in Fly Ash.
Environmentally Friendly Solution
A coal-fired power generation plant has a toxic byproduct currently stored in ground landfills and underwater sites called dirty Fly Ash.
There are currently 2 billion tons stored in the USA alone.
There are currently 2 billion tons stored in the USA alone.
Fly Ash and Sludge Pellets are our Engpell™ products.
Our Engpell™ product is patent-protected and tested to withstand boiling water. Depending on the site chemistry, it does not break down undisturbed for approximately 1000 years. Our Engpell™ solution is customizable to a variety of site conditions.
We have developed geometrically engineered pellets Engpell™ from this dirty Fly Ash for backfilling to an original storage site. The engineered pellets reduce the surface area by hundreds of times in a pressure-compressed custom chemistry that reduces the leaching potential by over 95.8% in independent lab results.
Engpell™ Services and Additional Information
Large-Scale Landfills and Sites
We offer complete onsite Engpell™ processing of buried or submerged fly ash for large-quantity processing. The only outside element required for our remote processing facility is 3-phase power to run our large equipment. Onsite processing is an advantage for large quantities of fly ash, as it reduces all contamination potentials and the cost of transporting unprocessed fly ash material.
Additional Benefits of Engpell™ Pellets
- Does not dissolve in water (including boiling water)
- Resists various environmental conditions, such as water, seawater, ice, gas, etc.
- Lightweight 20 – 25% lighter than natural sand or pebbles
- Pellets are adjustable for hardness, water absorption, tensile strength, compressive strength, flexural strength, abrasion resistance, heat resistance, freeze-melt strength, chemical strength, and bio persistence required by each specific application.
- Pellets have high hardness.
- CO2 is stored sustainably; even when crushed, the molecular structure that holds CO2 remains unchanged.
Encapsulation is Key!
There are several solutions for repurposing nearly 85% of newly generated clean fly ash directly from the power plant. The repurposed products include Portland Cement, bricks, and blocks. Our group holds nine patents for these repurposed products. The common denominator for all these environmentally friendly products from fly ash is an encapsulation of the fly ash material. Accordingly, we have applied the same encapsulation main principle to our Engpell™ product. The difference is that we can process existing fly ash from landfills and ponds.
Residential and Commercial Ground Storage of fly ash Pellets
We can excavate existing fly ash buried in residential and commercial properties such as daycares, schools, and parks. Each site can be re-established with a top layer of dirt 18" below the ground surface to comply with new laws requiring this protection. Most of the remaining fly ash material will be processed into Enpell pellets and reburied, rendering an estimated millennium of protection, with 95.8% less leaching potential for arsenic and other toxic potential of fly ash. Depending on each site's limitations, the fly ash can be processed onsite or remotely in our portable facilities.
